A unique recreational attraction is a trip on the draisine from Altenglan to Staudernheim. Over a stretch of 40 km in the midst of the Palatinate Hills you can explore the lower Glantal on a draisine. Cycling down the tracks of a decommissioned railway line takes you from Altenglan near Kusel to Lauterecken to Staudernheim in the Naheland. Following the small Glan River, tracing its course up to its mouth into the Nahe, the varied countryside provides a multitude of nature impressions.

This biking and hiking trail takes you from Glan-Münchweiler to Sarreguemines in France through the scenically most charming regions in the southern part of our district.
The Fritz Wunderlich biking and hiking trail leads you from Kusel into the Saarland to Freisen. Experience the Kusel District's scenically charming regions; follow the tracks Fritz Wunderlich left behind. Especially recommendable is a climb to the far visible Lichtenberg Castle alongside its bottom path. A visit to the Geoscope inside will equally hold your fascination.
Follow the Lautertalweg leading from Lauterecken to Wolfstein to Kaiserslautern. All the way alongside the Lauter - a comfortable stretch easily managed by anybody. A thoroughly rewarding experience is a stopover in Wolfstein and a visit to the tourist limestone mine and the printing museum. Visits to the Zweikirche in Rutsweiler and to the Heidenburg near Kreimbach-Kaulbach are equally interesting ventures. Also within easy reach are the State Garden Show grounds and the dinosaur exhibition in Kaiserslautern.
Der Radweg im Odenbachtal führt über 32 km von Adenbach über Reipoltskirchen und Otterberg bis nach Otterbach, wo er auf den Lautertal-Radweg stößt. Überwiegend auf straßenbegleitenden Radwegen erschließt sich die ganze Schönheit der "alten Welt". TIPP: Ein Besuch der Wasserburg Reipoltskirchen lohnt immer! 
Die Kirschroute (22 km) erschließt von Schönenberg-Kübelberg aus das Kohlbachtal und führt über Frohnhofen und Selchenbach bis nach Osterbrücken zum Saarland-Radweg. Nichts für Ungeübte, ab Frohnhofen sind mehrere Steigungen zu bewältigen. TIPP: Das begehbare Geschichtsbuch der Verbandsgemeinde Schönenberg-Kübelberg bietet drei spannende und attraktive Wanderwege. Ein besonders schöner Rastplatz ist am Entenweiher in Frohnhofen.
Der Barbarossa-Radweg führt über knapp 90 km von Glan-Münchweiler über Kaiserslautern nach Worms. Viele schöne und abwechslungsreiche Landschaftserlebnisse erwarten den Radler, im Bereich Enkenbach ist der Weg teilweise jedoch recht "durchrüttelnd". 
Ebenfalls eine schöne Verbindung in Richtung Kaiserslautern ist der Pfälzer Land Radweg (43 km), der momentan in Niederstaufenbach startet und über Hirschhorn nach Enkenbach führt. Die noch fehlende Verbindung nach Altenglan soll in den nächsten Jahren gebaut werden.
Die Herrmannsberger Höhentour führt hoch hinauf und ist nur für geübte Radler oder E-Bike-Nutzer zu empfehlen. Vom Glan-Blies-Weg aus erschließt sie die Herrmannsbergsgemeinden Welchweiler, Elzweiler und Horschbach in einer schönen Rundtour von 14 km Länge.
Die Moortour ist ebenfalls eine Rundtour, die ohne Steigungen auf 26 km Streckenlänge von Landstuhl über Bruchmühlbach-Miesau, Schönenberg-Kübelberg und Waldmohr das Landstuhler Bruch durchfährt. Ganz besonders für Familien mit Kindern geeignet. TIPP: Der Mohrmühlweiher und der Ohmbachsee bieten sich für die gemütliche Pause an.
Die aktuelle Trendsportart Nordic Walking erfreut sich immer größerer Beliebtheit. Auf insgesamt 216 km Streckenlänge lädt in jeder Verbandsgemeinde mindestens ein Parcours die Nordic Walker ein.

Additional recreational opportunities are available near Schönenberg-Kübelberg at the Ohmbach Lake. Not only are the waters suitable for leisurely boat rides, various types of boating sports, and surfing, but, due to its extensive fish population, also for fishing. A number of paths surrounding the lake provide biking, hiking, or other fitness opportunities, such as jogging or walking.
